• Design and implement robust ELT pipelines from SAP BW (Open Hub, ODP, or other connectors) into Databricks.
• Transform and model data using Databricks (PySpark/SQL, Delta Lake) following bronze/silver/gold architecture.
• Rebuild or optimize SAP BW logic (hierarchies, key figures, currency conversion, time-dependent attributes).
• Partner with SAP teams to understand existing BW data models and with BI teams to validate reports.
• Ensure pipelines are production-ready: scalable, monitored, and governed (Unity Catalog, data quality checks).
• Document data lineage, business logic, and migration patterns for future scalability.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer in cloud environments (Azure preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Databricks (PySpark/SQL, Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables).
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory or equivalent ETL tools.
• Familiarity with data modeling (star schema, SCD handling, hierarchies).
• Previous exposure to SAP BW data structures (InfoObjects, ADSOs, DSOs, Process Chains).
• Strong SQL and Python skills for data transformation and automation.
• Knowledge of SAP extractors (ODP, CDS views, SLT).
• Experience rebuilding BW KPIs in Power BI or another BI tool.
• Familiarity with dbt for transformation pipelines.
