Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to support a new Data Engineering team delivering Databricks-based data products for a Cyber Insurance business area. The role is suitable for a mid-senior profile with solid data analysis experience, able to work independently on data modelling, source-to-target mappings, source data analysis, and output validation, while collaborating closely with Data Engineers and business stakeholders. 

  • Take ownership of data analysis activities for Cyber Insurance analytics and reporting requirements 
  • Define, document, and maintain data models, business entities, relationships, and key data definitions 
  • Create, review, and maintain source-to-target mappings to support ETL/ELT pipeline development 
  • Analyse source data structures, transformation rules, data gaps, inconsistencies, and data quality issues 
  • Work closely with Data Engineers to support the design of curated datasets across the medallion architecture 
  • Validate transformed data against agreed business rules, mapping logic, and expected outputs 
  • Support reporting and analytics needs by validating datasets, business definitions, and expected outputs 
  • Document data definitions, transformation assumptions, lineage, validation rules, and analysis outcomes 
  • Support the creation of trusted data products for business, actuarial, underwriting, risk, and reporting users 
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and align on expected outputs 

Essential skills

  • Solid data modelling experience, including business entities, relationships, and data structures 
  • Strong experience creating and maintaining source-to-target data mappings 
  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis, profiling, validation, and reconciliation 
  • Good understanding of ETL/ELT processes and collaboration with data engineering teams 
  • Ability to translate business requirements into clear data requirements, mappings, and validation rules 
  • Experience with data quality checks, reconciliation, and output validation 
  • Strong documentation skills and good stakeholder communication 
  • Attention to detail and a strong analytical mindset 

Desired skills

  • Experience with Databricks, lakehouse/data warehouse environments, and BI tools (Power BI/Tableau)
  • Understanding of Medallion architecture and data products, exposure to insurance data, and basic Python/PySpark knowledge.
