Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design and build scalable data solutions using Microsoft Fabric.

The role focuses on building data pipelines, Lakehouse Architectures and trusted datasets that support analytics, reporting and AI use cases.

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop data solutions within Microsoft Fabric.
  • Build and maintain Lakehouse architectures using OneLake.
  • Develop scalable data pipelines using Fabric Data Factory.
  • Integrate data from APIs, databases, files, ERP/CRM platforms and cloud applications.
  • Build data transformations using SQL, Python, PySpark and Spark.
  • Create curated datasets for reporting, analytics and AI.
  • Implement data quality and validation controls.
  • Monitor and optimise pipeline performance, reliability and cost.
  • Support CI/CD, testing and production deployments.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Fabric Data Factory, Fabric Notebooks, Dataflows Gen2, and Fabric Warehouse.
  • Advanced SQL skills and practical experience with Python & PySpark for data engineering and analytics workloads.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and the design, development, and optimization of enterprise data pipelines.
  • Solid knowledge of Data Warehouse and Data Lake architectures, data modeling principles, and modern data platforms.
  • Experience working with Azure services and Git-based development workflows in collaborative environments.

Desired skills

  • Experience with Azure Data Factory and/or Azure Databricks.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, including Semantic Models and reporting solutions.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Purview, Real-Time Analytics, and Event Streaming capabilities.
  • Understanding of Medallion Architecture and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
  • Relevant Microsoft Fabric certifications (e.g., DP-600, DP-700) are considered a strong advantage.
